Principal's Message

August 1, 2023

Dear Simons Middle School Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to Simons Middle School!  My name is Tara Noelte, the Principal of Simons Middle School. This year, we will continue our work to provide the most effective teaching and learning environment to support our students and community.

Our dedicated staff is award winning with recognition as an AVID National Demonstration School, PBIS, California Gold Ribbon, Blue Ribbon, Distinguished School and Title 1 Academic Achievement. The American School Counselors Association (ASCA) recently recognized Simons Middle School as a RAMP award recipient for their commitment to delivering a program that emphasizes student achievement and success.  In addition, Simons Middle School has been awarded with a grant to become a Community School, which fosters a place where educators, local community members, families, and students work together to strengthen conditions for student learning and healthy development.

Our staff strives to provide students with a nurturing classroom environment, which allows for positive interactions on campus.  Students are provided with a challenging and enriched learning environment. They have the opportunity to participate in Art, the AVID program, band/orchestra, the Paxton Patterson Career Lab, and afterschool clubs/sports and tutoring programs.   Our offerings include honors and elective courses that foster a rigorous, well rounded educational experience for our students. At Simons, we coach and guide our students to be safe, responsible and respectful individuals.  By focusing on a positive school culture, setting high standards for students, faculty and staff, and engaging the community, it is our goal at Simons to focus on the development of the whole child who is ready for their high school years and beyond.

Simons values and appreciates parents and guardians as active participants in our learning community.   Parents and guardians are encouraged to review their child’s agenda on a daily basis, monitor their progress via Parent Connect, communicate with teachers via email, phone calls or scheduling parent/teacher conferences.  In addition, I invite our parents and guardians to attend our School Advisory Council/Coffee with a School Leader meetings and Back to School Night.

I look forward to working with Simons’ students, families, community and staff, as we continue .

Respectfully,

Tara Noelte

Principal
